A flock of birds, black crows, are flying in the dark night sky. Wheatfield with crows is one of Van Gogh’s most famous paintings and probably the one most subject to speculation. It was painted in July of 1890, in the last weeks of Van Gogh’s life. About the artist: Vincent Willem van Gogh (1853 -1890) was one of the most famous Post Impressionist painters of his era. His work was most notable for its rough beauty, emotional honesty, and bold color.
