After the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 turned the musical world upside down, Michael Rouse (a conservatory-trained classical trumpeter, conductor, music historian and music theorist from North Carolina), started the TRUMPET WORLD website to connect trumpet, cornet and/or flugelhorn players from across the globe and to provide an up-to-date portal for players of all levels and backgrounds. Many of the pages within the site are accessible to anyone but members of the site have premium privileges and access to a wide variety of valuable resources for classical, commercial and jazz musicians. These resources will benefit professionals, teachers, students, comeback players, amateurs and hobbyists alike. The mission of the site is not only to promote communication but to further camaraderie among trumpet players around the world. If trumpeters of all levels and backgrounds have a place to come together, network, exchange ideas, share common problems and solutions, encourage mutual support, as well as share literature, trends and news in the trumpet world, then together we can improve every aspect of the worldwide trumpet community.
