Officially established 2013 after noticing so many Veterans never, ever had even a "thank you". We bought gifts like t-shirts, hats, gift cards, some handmade items & often a handwritten thank you card to go with them. We've been in IL, IN, KY, FL, GA from time to time & thanked as many as we could afford. Best investment of the soul ever. Thanking a Veteran wasn't as popular as it is today. So glad it finally changed. Back then it was definitely an eye opening realization of what Americans should have been doing for all years prior. Many a tear, not so much as true sadness, but more of two way gratitude with an acknowledgement of something so long overdue. We are not a non-profit. We didn't establish to be a money making business. It was all to make more to give more. We raise money in various ways like public events. Most items come from the handmade variety. Jewelry, photography, & AI assisted creations. Getting older now limits the extensive routine of weekend events & has forced more of an "at home" way of keeping this going. Here we are! Currently all designs are created by a DAV (disabled American Veteran). $1 from each item will be donated to non-profit who works with Veterans. Often local (surrounding counties & state). Recently the VSO who normally knows who needs help or where the money might be best used. Because of being so small, we aren't 10K donors, but sometimes having just their heating bill paid is like winning the lottery - so we continue. It is a lot of work - but rewarding in many ways.
