At *Shades of You*, we believe every child deserves to see themselves reflected in the world around them — in the toys they play with, the books they read, the art that decorates their space, and the celebrations that mark their milestones. Born in the heart of Hawai‘i, one of the most culturally rich and diverse places on Earth, *Shades of You* was founded with a mission: to celebrate cultural identity and create joyful, inclusive experiences for children of all backgrounds. What started as a passion project for her own children quickly became a purpose-driven business when our founder, a proud African-American mother, noticed the glaring lack of party products and gifts that represented the wide spectrum of skin tones, cultures, and traditions she saw every day in her community. From birthday parties to baby showers, from classroom gifts to family keepsakes, it was hard to find decor and products that looked like *us*. So she decided to change that. Shades of You is more than a party store. We are a movement to normalize and celebrate diversity from the earliest ages. Through beautifully designed party decorations, accessories, apparel, and custom creations, we center children of color and amplify the beauty of cultures often left out of mainstream representation.
