I'm a lifetime "summer person," having spent every summer on a small island in Maine. The memory of that island is what sustains me through my long winters away. One cold December night, I picked up a paintbrush and started painting that memory. I realized that beating from my heart, flowing through my brush, was a love for the little islands scattered up and down Maine's coast. These islands are the subjects of fantastical boating adventures in summertime, and walks of solitude and meditation in the winter. These islands are my anchors, centering me against life's many currents. I hope by painting them I can share some of their beauty and restorative power with others.
