Runderella's Designs

A few years ago I was on the edge of burnout. To try to fend it off, I attended a local design conference. The conference was loaded with great inspiration, but one speaker fell flat for me--a recent college graduate with no real experience telling me how to succeed. Instead of walking out or completely losing my cool, I started doodling owls...lots and lots of owls. I could have let those owls just sit in my notebook, but a friend challenged me to do something with them. It was a dare that I took to the next level--for the next 385 days, I drew and illustrated one owl each day. At first, they were very cartoony, but then I started incorporating my love for all things sputnik (Mid Century Modern) and found my style. After my time as the director of a nonprofit that I helped to found came to an abrupt and surprising end, I decided to return to freelance illustration & design full time.
