I’m Kristin M. Roach, an artist and illustrator based in Ames, Iowa. My work celebrates the plants that shape our landscapes — from wild elderberries along the hedgerows to the strawberries, cherries, and oaks found in Midwestern backyards. Each piece begins with close observation, often of plants growing in my own orchard or garden, and is painted in gouache or watercolor with a focus on seasonal detail and ecological connection. My practice bridges art and ecology. Alongside original paintings and fine art prints, I design collections of botanical stationery and home goods so that nature’s beauty can be part of everyday life. Whether it’s a notecard, a journal, or a print on your wall, these works are invitations to pause, notice, and connect with the living world around us.
