Dequilla (Ruth J Jamieson) creates artwork and designs in a variety of themes influenced by interests in nature, spirit, science and fantasy. Viewers have described my fractals as imbuing them with the same surreal wonder that they feel when looking up at the stars on beautiful clear night. In fact I feel that same wonder when creating all my images, as well as immense gratitude for the inspiration that brings them into being. Drawing, painting, fibre art and many other types of artwork have been part of my life since early childhood. My artistic training includes grade school art lessons, personal experimentation, some College graphics courses and pottery classes. Life as a 'professional' artist began for me in 1994. I became a potter and opened an Artist’s Cooperative. For the last seven years I have been working in two dimensional media. Currently I focus on photography, fractal art, and painting.
