Japanese Calligraphy of Maple Tree Postcard Briefkaart
A kanji is the Japanese word for Chinese character. Chinese characters represent an idea into one character. Typically, one part of the kanji is the meaning of the character, while the other gives it the sound. They are usually combined with other kanji to make complex words.
This beautiful postcard has Japanese calligraphy for the kanji 楓. It means maple. Maple in Japanese is pronounced kaede. To write maple leaf, you write 楓葉 (pronounced fuuyou.)
The calligraphy was handwritten by me on a tablet. A drawing of a Japanese maple leaf adds to the meaning of the card.
Did you know you don't need an envelope to send a postcard? You can save a little money that way, especially if you use the postcard stamp. But if you want an envelope, chose the regular postcard.
