Printed on this greeting card is a gorgeous original sunset by photo Karen Coffelt of a sweeping view looking out from the top of the Mogollon Rim. This photo was taken at one of the scenic overlooks along the Rim Road in the Rim Country near Payson, Arizona. The Mogollon Rim forms the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau en Arizona and extends 200 miles from northern Yavapai County and runs eastward ending near the border of Nouveau-Mexique. This country is filled with aspen's, pines and oaks, with few maples sprinkled in here and there. Wildlife abounds with elk and mule deer, bears, mountain lions, and coyotes, just to name a few of the many animal species found here. Magnificent scenic views can be found all along the edge of the rim, and there are many turn-offs along the Rim Road where travelers may stop to enjoy the scenery.
