UNESCO WHS Serie - San Antonio Missies - Mission Espada - The site encompasses a group of 5 grenzen complexe missie situated along a stretch of the San Antonio River basin in southern Texas, as well as a ranch. The mission was built in order to convert local Native Americans to Christianity and solidify Spanish territorial claims in the New World against encroachment from France.
