Toile The Still Hour
A timeless corridor of stone and steam, The Still Hour invites viewers to step into the soft hush of a city in reverie. Rendered in luminous, painterly strokes, the scene presents a long urban avenue flanked by towering early-20th-century facades—bathed in fog, streaked with rain, and glowing faintly with amber light.
The bustle of yellow buses and dark umbrellas adds a sense of quiet rhythm rather than chaos. There is motion, but no rush. The distant tower, crowned and stately, looms through the haze like a memory of ambition—its name lost in the mist.
This work captures not the noise of the city, but its breath—the moments between movement, the hush beneath the horns. It recalls the photography of Alfred Stieglitz and the tonal sensibility of American realists, yet filters it through a digital impressionism that elevates the mundane to the near-mythic.
