This line was born out of a desire to lighten up someone's day when the situation is anything but light. A card that's funny. It's inappropriate. It's sarcastic. Sometimes it's just what's needed. Right after my second surgery for Stage 2 breast cancer, a co-worker's spouse was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. I needed to get her a card. I knew what they were going through; I knew I needed to say something. I tried to find a card that was my line of thinking. There was no "get well" card that was going to work for this. I finally handwrote something on a blank card, and my wheels started turning. And here we are.
