À propos

For over fifty years I have been drawing and painting the magnificent views around my home in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. My inspiration has come from the gentle forest creeks and the mighty waters of the Gauley and New Rivers, from the small wooded valley farms to the wild country of the Monongahela National Forest and the Cranberry Back-country. My art has been shaped in part by the land, the people and the proud history and heritage of Appalachia. I would like nothing better than to spend another 50 years painting this land and sharing it with you. I had absolutely no interest in art until a high school art class literally changed my life. After only a few weeks I knew I had found the thing I truly had to do. A tour of duty in the Army, including a year in Viet Nam enabled me to attend art school on the GI Bill. Since then I have painted, exhibited and sold my work and won many awards in Juried shows. I enjoy working in many mediums and styles, I love variety in art and in life. Much of my work is in oil paints, watercolor, acrylic ink, and traditional relief prints. I strive to employ color, texture and a feeling of depth in my art. I hope you enjoy looking at it.
