We are Rikke and Tina, a brand new surface pattern design team based in Los Angeles called Nugget’s Garden. Together we have 40 years of experience in the graphic design, illustration, and trend industry. We license artwork for fabric, wallpaper, stationery, and more. We planted Nugget’s Garden as a safe, messy, magical space to protect the softest parts of ourselves. It’s where we go to play, to breathe, to scribble and laugh. We grow blossoms and little nuggets that turn into prints and patterns. Our name comes from Nugget, our tiny hairless guinea pig - velvety soft, exposed, and weirdly beautiful. He reminds us that vulnerability deserves protection, and that softness is strength. We’re two very different humans who somehow make perfect sense together. One is punk rock and Photoshop; the other is whimsy and watercolor. Somehow, it works. We balance each other out. Maybe because we both believe playful art is a kind of rebellion. It’s our way of saying yes to joy and connection, even when the world feels hard. For us, designing patterns isn’t only about aesthetics, it’s also about returning to innocence, safety, and wonder. It’s messy, layered, raw….and that’s the point. Our goal is to turn up the color outside of the garden. To make everything cozier, brighter, friendlier and more joyful. Xoxox, Rikke and Tina
