My Art, My Journey My name is Gordon Powles, and for over two decades, my life has been a fusion of design, painting, illustration, and photography. It all started with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design from Camberwell University of the Arts in London, but my true education has been the world itself. I've always been captivated by the power of art to tell a story and enrich lives. My work is heavily inspired by my surroundings, particularly the coastline and the places I've been fortunate enough to visit. I love to explore new locations, sketching and capturing images that document a moment in time and space. My creative process is a journey of its own, blending traditional and digital media. I often start with a photograph or a drawing, then enhance it with software to create something new—an image that is vivid, vibrant, and alive with energy. For me, the magic lies in this collaboration of different techniques, creating art with a strong graphic quality that is both modern and timeless. Whether it’s a striking photograph, a detailed illustration, or a colourful painting, each piece is a reflection of my passion to bring a unique perspective to the world.
