I have been a graphic designer since the olden days before computers when everything had to be done by hand. Paste-up was done on a light table with a T-square and triangle on layout boards ruled with non-repro blue pencils. I was one of the pioneers of the first computerized typesetters on the market, and updated my skills to keep up with the emerging technologies. I worked for a commercial printer for 15 years before I started my own home-based graphic design business. I am now retired and have found a new hobby to keep my insomnimaniacal brain busy — teeshirt design. Actually, I am NOT retired. I'm still running a home-based graphic design business at the age of 73. Why? Because I have corporate clients that I've been doing work for for over 20 years who tell me that I can't retire until they retire. So I guess I'll be doing this kind of work until they pry my cold, dead mouse from my gnarled fingers.
