The Boxing Match

I’ve really loved the visual power of boxing since I was a little kid. To me, Muhammad Ali was a real life superhero, from the first time I saw the picture of him over a flattened Sonny Liston in old copies of sports magazine. A few short years after I picked up my first full-fledged digital camera, a low-end Canon PowerShot, I was soon tapped by a local boxing fitness gym to help out with photos and creating promotional materials. I got a chance to try to capture some imagery that tugged at my imagination. My photos have been featured in promo materials and social media for a few local fitness/boxing gyms here in Chicago and also in Cuerus Boxing Newspaper. This store features all of my original photography and digital art created from those projects, the archives and new works. My visual style has been influenced by not only combat sports but also by pop and music visuals. You’ll see quite a bit of non-boxing influences seep in. - Bernardo
