Hi, my name is Yazmin, I am an Artist based in Poole, Dorset. I have always enjoyed drawing and painting, however since leaving education 13 years ago I havnt really picked up a pencil. 2020 has been the year of change, we have all had our challenges through the covid pandemic, and I struggled in isolation. I didn't know what to do with myself and felt myself falling into a very depressive state. Everywhere was closed, bars, cafes, sports venues, entertainment... however one sneaky store which was classified as a "food retailer" remained opened, fate would have it that this retailer also had a fabulous art department. Game changer. The world may have stopped for a while, however I refused to stand still, so I purchased some paints, a canvas and some brushes. I used this given time at home to push forward and progress in life. Once I picked up the paintbrush I couldn't put it down. I specialize in animal and wildlife paintings. I have fun using all mediums, however I have found my own unique style using alcohol based inks. I hope my work brings as much joy to you as it does to me. 2020 is what you make of it.
