À propos

John James Audubon published his bookplates for Birds of America from 1827 to 1838. Today, nature lovers, bird watchers, and ornithologists still admire and collect his work. As an artist he strove to paint the birds in active, natural poses (although sometimes over-exaggerated). His work has been appreciated as both scientific illustration and art. The bird species span from Canada, throughout the United States, and south to Mexico, the Caribbean and even into South America. Some of the species are now extinct and Audubon's drawings are some of the only ones that captured them before they disappeared. The colors and plumage of these birds along with the foliage and natural surroundings have made these some of the most sought after vintage art prints. As a photographer, artist and scientist growing up in the Southern United States, I have long admired the works of Audubon. After procuring the entire set of Birds of America bookplates, I have set about restoring them for display. You will find vividly colored birds and foliage here for gifts, wall décor, and more. I hope you bring a little bit of nature inside and admire the beautiful art created in a newly explored world full of amazing wildlife and especially colorful and exotic birds.
