Vendre sur Zazzle

À propos

A Rusty Peddler began when Joan asked Nancy to help her with her social media presence. This webstore is just one part of their joint endeavors. Nancy does the creating and managing of this digital Zazzle Shop and may add creativity to her own photos or to Joan's images(with permission) in order to create Zazzle items to sell. You can find out more about Joan's other items by visiting her website: www.joanschulte.com. About Joan...by Joan! I have been a creator and maker as far back as I can remember. My interest in photography began in the mid 70's, and I built my first darkroom in a bathroom around 1985. Although, I grudgingly moved toward digital photography while pursuing a degree in art in 2005, I have come to fully embrace the magic of it. I still miss the smell of the darkroom, and the sensory experience of watching an image bloom onto the paper just by adding light. After transitioning to a digital capture of my images, I discovered how much I missed the feeling of physically creating something with my hands. So, I began to experiment with alternate ways to present my photographs that would allow me to satisfy my need to create. My artwork has evolved into photographic transfers onto wood panels that I build using only reclaimed wood. I transfer my images using a water-slide transfer process that causes the image to crack as it dries. The use of reclaimed wood combined with this method of transfer gives each piece a distressed, aged quality and ensures that each piece is unique. I do all of the processes involved in creating each piece myself, from sourcing the wood and cutting and assembling each support in my wood shop, to printing and transferring the images. With my discovery of Zazzle, I have found a way to on expand the number and types of items I am able to create and hope that with these new products, I can introduce a renewed feeling of nostalgia and a longing for days gone by to a new audience of potential customers.
