Porte-clés Salmón de rio

It is a member of the Brycon characins family and is native to the La Plata basin in South America. It prefers fast-flowing, clean water and is now mostly restricted to fragmented, preserved stretches of these rivers, often near riverine forests.  It feeds on a fruits, plants, and insects. It can reach a maximum length of 79.5 cm (31.3 inches). It is a critically endangered species.
