Carnet Electric Rockrose: The Pop-Art Cistus
History is sticky. Your notebook should be clean.
Consider the Cistus x cyprius, commonly known as the Gum Rockrose. It is a flower that does not know boundaries. It produces a resin called labdanum. In ancient times, as described by the historian Herodotus, this precious perfume was collected in a most undignified manner: by combing it out of the beards of billy goats who had been grazing in the bushes.
The Anthropology of the Neon Blotches We have taken this goat-adjacent flower and scrubbed it clean with the aesthetics of Pop Art. We have replaced the sticky resin with electric saturation. The Cistus is famous for the crimson blotches at the base of its petals. Some say these are tears; others say they are simply stains. In this design, they are graphic statements. They say: "I am a flower, but I am also a commodity."
Why You Must Possess This Object:
From Goats to Warhol: You are holding the evolution of civilization in your hands. We went from scraping resin off farm animals to printing high-voltage graphics on spiral-bound paper. It is progress, or at least, it is cleaner.
The Crimson Mark: The stark white petals with their shocking red centers serve as a reminder that even in purity, there is a spot of chaos. Use this notebook to organize that chaos.
A Trap for Words: The interior is waiting. It is a blank stage (or a lined prison, your choice). Fill it with plays, grocery lists, or denials of reality. The Zazzle paper is sturdy; it will not judge you.
Buy the notebook. The ghost of the goat commands it.
