Toile Tree Bark in Autumn Moss -

As a walk in the woods drew to a close, a fallen tree with its richly textured bark enveloped in lush moss and fungi was stumbled upon on the autumn forest floor, evoking a sense of woodland stillness. The delectable decay became a highlight of the afternoon stroll. LOCATION: Ashford Warren and Hoads Wood is a 34.5-hectare (85-acre) open woodland and nature reserve north of Ashford in Kent, the Garden of England, in the United Kingdom. This site features a ‘relic’ wood pasture with veteran trees and a nationally rare acid grassland, situated adjacent to two major roads and the rapid urban development of Ashford, as well as a railway line that passes through it. Ashford Warren & Hoads Wood is owned by the Ashford Borough Council and is managed by the conservation charity, Kent Wildlife Trust. The forest shares part of its name with the nearby Hoads Wood SSSI. However, Hoads Wood is not managed by KWT.
