Deron Johnson, an innovative, self-taught, Florida artist first found healing inspiration in the works of world renowned, Vietnamese painter and peace activist, HUONG. It was serendipity and HUONG’s Peace Mural that captured Johnson’s curious, creative spark. On Florida’s Treasure Coast, Johnson was gifted with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to assist the contemporary great, taking expert guidance from the international artist herself while prepping canvases at her Art War and Peace Museum installation. This brief exposure instantly fueled Johnson’s love affair with color, texture, paint and canvas. An opening was created for him to explore his unique, ethnic, dimensional, bright, yet earthy style.
